The rapper tweeted from the plane while it was quarantined on the runway for hours
Vanilla Ice has revealed he was on board the Emirates plane that was detained at New York’s JFK Airport earlier today (September 5) after multiple people on board fell ill.
Flight 203 from Dubai was quarantined on the runway for hours when numerous passengers and some aircraft staff complained of feeling sick. It was initially reported that 100 people had fallen ill, but that number has now been confirmed as 19 at the time of writing.
The ‘Ice Ice Baby’ rapper tweeted from the plane after it landed. “So I just landed from Dubai and now there is like tons of ambulances and fire trucks and police all over the place,” he wrote.

He also posted a video showing the scene outside the window of the double-decker plane. In it, he said: “Well, a couple people got sick on the plane and it must be pretty serious because there’s a lot of people out there – news stations, police, a bunch of ambulances.”
This is crazy. Apparently there is over 100 people sick on the bottom floor, so happy I’m up top, it’s a double-decker plane 380

Later, he added: “This is crazy. Apparently there is over 100 people sick on the bottom floor, so happy I’m up top, it’s a double-decker plane 380.”
The star’s tour manager, Chuck Quon, confirmed to NBC New York that they had been on the Emirates flight and were getting on connecting flights home. Vanilla Ice was unaffected by the outbreak, the symptoms of which New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s office said suggested passengers were suffering from the flu.
The rapper is not the only musician to have suffered a plane-related ordeal lately. Post Malone was recently onboard a private jet that was forced to make an emergency landing when two of its tyres blew out on take-off.
