The shirt flips West’s comments about George W. Bush in 2005
Questlove has been spotted in a t-shirt that says “Kanye doesn’t care about black people”.
West has recently sparked controversy for his support for Donald Trump on Twitter. In recent days, he has said he “loves” the current US President and called him his “brother”, while he has also shared photos of himself wearing a Make America Great Again hat, and hit out at Barack Obama.
The Roots performed at the Concert For Peace And Justice in Montgomery, Alabama, where the drummer was photographed in the shirt. The quote is a reference to the rapper’s statement about George W. Bush in 2005, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
The t-shirt also read, “This is alt-right dream”, with the words arched around the other statement. The words appeared to be written in a font similar to that used on West’s 2016 album ‘The Life Of Pablo’.
Meanwhile, West has released two new songs this weekend. First came ‘Lift Yourself‘, which features lyrics like: “Poopy-di scoop/Scoop-diddy-whoop/Whoop-di-scoop-di-poop.” Yesterday (April 28), he shared ‘Ye Vs The People‘, which features a guest appearance from T.I. and opened with West rapping: “I know Obama was heaven-sent/But ever since Trump won, it proved that I could be President.”
The star has also shared a possible title for his new album and its proposed artwork. In a screenshot of a conversation with someone called Wes, West asked for suggestions for the name of his record. Wes replied, “Love everyone”, to which West said: “I love that.”
He also shared an image of plastic surgeon Jan Adams in the conversation, explaining that he was the person who performed surgery on West’s mother the day before she died. “I want to forgive and stop hating,” the rapper wrote.
